Attorney Referral Fees in California

Referral and "Joint Partner" Opportunities- Attorney to Attorney Referral Fees
For almost twenty-two years we have enjoyed "win-win" attorney to attorney referral relationships with hundreds of attorneys in California and dozens more across the world. In full compliance with California State Bar Rule 2-200, we always look forward to paying generous attorney to attorney referral fees immediately after receiving payment on a final settlement or judgment.
Here's are several things which differentiate us from other plaintiff firms
First, all of our partners have extensive settlement and trial experience with complicated multimillion dollar cases. All are "AV" rated and actively involved in local, state and national trial lawyer organizations. Our firm is also listed in the prestigious Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. The bottom line is that we have a passion for helping others and enjoy rolling up our sleeves and working hard to protect their rights. We believe that the attorney and client testimonials posted at our web site provided independent third-party validation of this fact. We invite you to take a moment and see for yourself what other people (attorneys and clients) have had to say about our attorneys and firm. Please go to www.jacksonwilson.com
If we accept an incoming referral (yes, we are somewhat selective about the types of cases we agree to take on), that referral will be represented by experienced counsel with the drive, dedication and resources to get the job done! Most of the cases which we do accept involve serious personal injury, wrongful death and business litigation.
We believe there's a lack of appreciation by many attorneys who receive referrals. The reasons probably include a lack of understanding as to the importance of referrals, disorganization, inattentiveness and in some cases, the intentional refusal to pay previously promised referral fees.
In fact, we've referred cases to other firms and never even received a "Thank You" letter. Getting updated is almost impossible and when we check for status, it's not unusual to talk to a paralegal who has no idea what's going- that the case was referred by our office and that we are entitled to an agreed to referral fee. It's scary to think about what amount of referral fee revenue has probably "slipped through the cracks" over the years (note- for the past 10 years we've become very careful about who we refer cases out to. If you think your firm should be on our outgoing referral list, give us a callto discuss setting up a win-win relationship).
Monthly updates and prompt payments
To avoid this problem for attorneys who are thoughtful enough to refer cases to our firm, we make sure to keep them updated on all case developments once a month via their choice of mail, email, facsimile or telephone. They're also free to call for an update any time they wish. Our referral agreement complies with all State Bar Rules and specifically allows us to do this.
Once the case is resolved, the agreed to referral fee is promptly paid with a detailed letter confirming all final disbursements and copies of all applicable documents. We think it's also important to point out that in our final letter to the client, we specifically recommend that the client contact YOU (the original referring attorney) for all future legal questions or needs. We even include your name and contact information. Without exception, all prior attorney-client relationships are always respected.
We understand how important and valuable attorney to attorney referrals can be and because of this, treat each referred client and referral source like gold. Our goal is to develop a long term win-win relationship with the referring attorney.
Each year, we pay out substantial sums to other attorneys relative to referrals and we'd like to include your name on our list of recipients. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to discuss the possibility of future client referrals. If you're busy, trust what we're telling you and simply want to make a referral in the future, when you do, just let our staff know the name of the referral and we'll take care of it from that point forward. It's not unusual for a 60 second referral phone call from the referring attorney or an assistant to be worth thousands, and even tens of thousands of dollars in referral fees down the road.
Let us provide added value to your existing client relationships. We're standing by to provide your client referrals with exceptional legal services. We'll even keep you updated along the way! Feel free to contact us today!
